Largs Academy Students Get Planting

Students from Largs Academy enjoyed themselves despite an initial reluctance to 'what?'..... plant wild flowers? But an afternoon out of the classroom persuaded them and they planted 195 plugs on the banks of the Marina. A great effort as it was windy and chilly by the sea. I am hoping for a colourful display of these specially chosen coastal wild flowers in August.

A strange icicle I found on the terrace and pretty snowdrops growing along the banks of the burn.

To plant or not to plant, that is the question.

I keep looking at the 20 pots of tulips, I planted in November and placed in the garage, just showing their green tips and thinking maybe it's time to plant them in the garden and face whatever the weather throws at them. However the soil is still very soggy and there is the possibility they could rot and then there are all the other hardy plants that I have started off in pots, aquilegias, lillies, iris. I guess it's time to be brave and let go, maybe I'll start the hardy plants outside for a couple of weeks and plant the tulips out on Sunday.

Raffy and Molly bored with the white stuff.
